A 40 year old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a train as he and and a friend were walking down the train tracks that run adjacent to Nolan Street on the city's east side overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the men were walking on the northbound tracks, and the man who was hit thought he was far enough from the oncoming southbound train to avoid being hit by it.
He was wrong.
The victim is suffering from multiple injuries and is in critical condition at SAMMC.
The other man wasn't hurt.
