A San Antonio woman has pleaded guilty to scamming illegal immigrants, News Radio 1200 WOAI reprots.
Yvette Marie Rodriguez, 41, who also used the name Anna DeHoyos, admitting to falsely claiming to be an immigration official who could provide legal documents for a fee.
Court documents show Rodriguez colecte $30,000 from immigrants anxious to obtain Permanent Residency papers.
She would charge clients up to $6,000 apiece for providing documents, which the individuals never received because Rodriguez was unable to provide them.
She pleaded guilty to wire fraud and faces up to twenty years in federal prison when she is sentenced in August.
