Police say a man was found lying on a south side sidewalk overnight, bleeding from at least 15 stab wounds to the chest, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Detectives said the victim, who they say was 'about sixty,' was unconscious from blood loss when a passerby found him lying on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of Vermont Street, which is just south of Division.
Police have no idea whether the victim was stabbed at the location where he was found, or whether he was stabbed someplace else and then dumped there. They also don't know who did it, or why.
The man was rushed to University Hospital with no vital signs, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
