Former Employee Pleads Guilty to Hacking into Ex Employer's Computer System 124 Times

A 40 year old Boerne man is facing up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to hacking into his ex employer's computer 124 times over the course of seven months, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Neal Bond pled guilty in federal court in San Antonio to one count of computer intrusion and damage.Federal prosecutors say Bond voluntarily resigned his position as Information Technology Help Desk manager for the Colorado based company in 2015, and accepted a position with another firm.

But Bond started hacking into his former employers computers in June of 2015 and continued doing it until January of 2016.

Prosecutors say Bond's purpose was simply to hack into the system and do damage.  They say he didn't steal anything, and on at least one occasion, Bond rendered the former employer's trading system inoperable.

Bond has already repaid nearly $11,000 in restitution.
