The DPS says 13 people have been confirmed dead in a traffic accident on Highway 83 near Garner State Park in Uvalde County, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
One official said one of the vehicles involved is a tour bus.. The First Baptist Church in New Braunfels confirms it was its bus, carrying senior adults home from a retreat.
Gov. Greg Abbott expressed his sympathy for the victims of 'the tragic accident.'
Several police agencies are on the scene and roads near Concan will be closed for several hours while the investigation is underway.
The church says the bus was returning from a church retreat hear Leakey.. The church said in a statement that it is welcoming prayers for those involved.
