Two Suspicious Fires Early Tuesday Started Outside and Spread to Homes

Firefighters were scrambling early today fighting two house fires, both of which appear to have started outside and spread to the home, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The first fire started about midnight in a home cut up into apartments in the 2100 block of Wilson Blvd, which is near Jefferson High School on the northwest side.

Firefighters said it started in a garage and then spread throughout the building.

Everybody got out in time but damage is believed to be extensive.

About 5AM a fire which was started in an outbuilding spread to a home in the 700 Marshall Street, which is just northwest of downtown.

That fire also caused significant damage to the home. Everybody got out safely.

Both fires appear to be suspicious, and arson investigators are on the scene of both of the fires.
