Gorsuch confirmation hearings set to start

Neil Gorsuch takes center stage as his Supreme Court nominee confirmation hearings start on Monday.  The 49-year old Gorsuch will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.  President Trump nominated Gorsuch to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died more than a year ago.  Gorsuch is a federal judge in Denver.  He also worked in the Justice Department during the George W. Bush administration.  Scalia's seat has been vacant for so long because Senate Republicans refused to consider President Obama's nomination of federal judge Merrick Garland last year.  Some Democrats have started calling it a "stolen seat."
