Man Facing Murder Charge Arrested--at The Bexar County Jail

It isn't often that murder suspects provide curb service to detectives, but that's exactly what happened last night at the Bexar County Jail, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Detectives had been looking for Kenton Maurice Haynes, 22, in connection with a capital murder investigation when who should walk right into the lobby of the Bexar County Jail but Kenton Maurice Haynes.

When jail security officers checked on Haynes, who said he was there to pick up personal property from a previous arrest, they immediately noticed that a capital murder warrant had been issued for him.

As he was sitting on the front steps of the jail waiting for his property to be returned, Deputies walked outside to arrest him.

He tried to run away but didn't get far.  He was arrested at Martin and Colorado Streets not just in connection with the murder warrant, but for the additional charge of evading arrest.
