The historic Kress Building downtown will be the home of a fast growing, San Antonio founded health care tech firm, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
CaptureRx, which was founded in San Antonio in 2000, will make its headquarters in the San Antonio Tech Corridor, pending the approval of an incentive package.
Capture Rx processes prescriptions for more than 2700 pharmacies nationwide, as well as 500 hospitals and health centers in 45 states.
The decision to locate the firm in the Tech District will result in 314 new or retained jobs in the city's fast growing downtown area.
The decision by CaptureRx to select San Antonio for its headquarters is a testament to our collaborative economic development approach as we strive to build upon the momentum of the growing tech ecosystem in our center city,” said Wayne Peacock, Chairman of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation. “This will mark a significant headquarters location in one of downtown’s most treasured historical buildings on Houston Street.”
CaptureRx Chairman Chris Hotchkiss said the firm searched the country and decided its best move would be to make no move at all, and make its permanent headquarters in the city where the firm was started.
“We were impressed with how they all came together and were extremely supportive of our company’s future growth. The availability of such an architecturally-significant historic building, and the opportunity to be part of the developing downtown tech district along Houston Street, helped us ultimately choose to remain in San Antonio," Hotchkiss said.
The incentive packages will come before City Council and County Commissioners in the coming weeks.
Capture Rx plans to move into its new headquarters early next year.
