An elderly woman was killed early today when the car she was a passenger in was rear ended by a hit and run driver, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The car the victim was in was eastbound on I-10 just east of downtown about midnight when a small car slammed into it from behind.The driver lost control and the car spun over.
The 80 year old woman in the passenger seat was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The woman who was driving is hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.The man who rammed into them jumped out of his wrecked car and ran away--he remains at large this morning.
