Couple With Home Destroyed in Tornado Exceeds Goal on 'Go Fund Me'

A local couple who lost their home in the tornadoes is finding a lot of love on the fundraising site 'Go Fund Me.'

After posting a photo of their ruined home with the caption 'Hello.  We are Homeless Now' the couple, calling themselves a 'soon to be family of four,' exceeded their fundraising goal of $5,000 in less then 14 hours.

The couple said they realize that homeowners insurance will cover a lot of the damage, but not all of it.

"We are so touched by the influx of kind words and offers for support, and cannot thank you enough. So much appreciation from our soon-to-be family of four for any help you can give," the couple, who was not identified, wrote.

It didn't take the Internet long to step up.  A total of 102 donors had kicked in funds for the couple after just 14 hours on the platform.
