The Houston based pipeline company Kinder Morgan says one of its natural gas pipelines exploded early today in rural Refugio County, sending up a fireball and causing an explosion that could be heard in Beeville, more than thirty miles away, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
A company spokesman told 1200 WOAI news there were no injuries.
"Upon notification, the company shut down the impacted pipeline segment, dispatched personnel to the site, and regulatory agencies have been notified," a Kinder Morgan spokesman said.
The Refugio County Office of Emergency Management confirmed no injuries were reported.No word yet on the cause of the pipeline explosion.

Refugio County is northeast of Corpus Christi.
