SAPD Officer Hurt in DWI Wreck

A San Antonio Police Officer is hospitalized with multiple injuries after his patrol car was rear ended by a suspected drunk driver, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The North Patrol officer was exiting westbound 410 and getting onto northbound 281 at the fly over ramp near the airport when his patrol car was hit from behind by a Chevy truck.

The officer was rushed to North Central Baptist Hospital with injuries to his head, neck, back, and leg.  He is listed in stable condition.

The driver of the pickup truck was not physically hurt, but he will be hurting in the wallet.  He's facing DWI charges, and additional charges may be pending.
