So What is the WORST Texas Song Ever??

From the Grammies to the Oscars, there are plenty of competitions to determine the best song in various categories, but what is the 'worst song' ever sung either by a Texan, or about Texas?

1200 WOAI news reports the Super Bash Houston, the major music festival which is planned for this coming weekend in conjunction with the Super Bowl, conducted a survey of 1,000 'random' Texans to determine the absolute biggest turkey among a wealth of songs performed over the years by or about Texans.

And the winner...or loser...is...Waco's Ashlee Simpson.

Fully 25% of voters agreed that Simpson's king turkey honker 'LaLa' is the worst song ever recorded that is connected to Texas.

But 'LaLa' has plenty of company.

"Dolce and Gabbana,' which doesn't even properly identify the fashion company, was a very close second..to last, with 23% of the vote.

'Dolce and Gabbana is the completely unlistenable single by Houston born rapper Riff Raff.

Texans don't go for rap, because number three with a 21.9% thumbs down rating is Ice Ice Baby, by Vanilla Ice, who, even though Big D is probably not excited to admit it, is a native of Dallas.

Number four on the biggest Texas turkeys of all time is somewhat of a surprise.  "All my Exes Live in Texas,' the 1990 mega-hit by San Antonio singing legend George Strait, is number four on the worst list.

For the fifth worst song we go back to hip hop, Sir Mix-a-Lot's 'Jump on It.'  Even though Sir Mix-a-Lot is from Seattle, the geography heavy 'Jump on It,' includes several Texas references.

Rounding out the Hall of Shame are LeeAnn Rimes,  a suburban  Dallas resident, with 'Can't Fight the Moonlight,' and the honorable mention for most unlistenable Texas song goes to Billy Ray Cyrus and 'Achey Breaky Heart.'

The Super Bash’s team of music enthusiasts first pored over the best and worst of Texas tunes, listening to a wide array of Texas-based and Texas born songs. Yes Texas, Vanilla Ice, Ashlee Simpson and RiFF RaFF are all home grown talent. Eventually, the team boiled the troubled tracks down to a list of six finalists and asked Texans to flag the greatest offenders," the SuperBash Houston people concluded.
