It probably seemed like a great idea at the time.
Police in Castle Hills say when an officer pulled over a motorist on the Loop 410 access road at West Avenue shortly after midnight early today, he made a series or really dumb decisions.
After the man stopped his car, with the red lights flashing in the rear view mirror, he jumped out of the car, leaving a woman in the passenger seat. That was dumb decision Number One.
Dumb decision Number Two...the guy decided to try to make his slick and cunning getaway by running across the main lanes of Loop 410. Nothing bad could happen, right.
The man got about ten feet before he was flattened by a passing car.
He was rushed to the hospital with multiple broken bones and other injuries, which are certain to be more painful, and more expansive, than a traffic ticket.
No word on why the officer pulled him over to begin with.
