I-10 Jumper Is the Suspect in NW Bexar County Double Shooting

Interstate 10 northwest of downtown was shut down for several hours early today, due to a man who was threatening to jump from the upper level of the expressway, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say the man was the suspect in a double shooting in northwest Bexar County Saturday night that left a man dead and a woman wounded.

The highway was closed from midnight to 6 AM Sunday.

The man who was threatening to jump fell or jumped from the upper level of the double decker highway, falling 90 feet to his death.

Saturday night gunshots rang out in front of the guard gate of Scenic Oaks, an upscale gated neighborhood off I-10 at Ralph Fair Road.

When deputies arrived, they found a man shot to death and a woman wounded.  The man was lying on the ground near a pickup truck and the woman was inside the pickup.. The man was already dead when the first units arrived.

She was rushed to the hospital by life flight helicopter where she was listed in critical condition.

Sheriff's detectives are investigating the connection between the suspect and the two victims.
