Lions Kick Last-Second FG To Beat Texans On Sunday Night Football

The Lions stormed back from a 16-point halftime deficit to knock off the Texans on Sunday Night Football. Detroit kicker Jake Bates drilled a game-winning 52-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Lions to a 26-23 victory over Houston at NRG Stadium. Bates tied the game at 23 with a 58-yarder with five minutes remaining in the contest and finished the game 2-for-2. Jared Goff overcame a five-interception performance and finished 15-of-30 for 240 yards and two touchdowns. Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown each had a receiving TD while David Montgomery found the end zone for the eighth time this season on the ground. The Lions have won seven in-a-row to move to 8-and-1. Houston QB C.J. Stroud went 19-of-33 with 232 yards, one touchdown and two picks. Joe Mixon and John Metchie the Third scored for the Texans as they slipped to 6-and-4.
