A former four-star recruit is stepping away from the Texas football team. Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed that sophomore wide receiver Johntay Cook the Second is no longer with the program and will enter the transfer portal next month. Cook was ESPN's 26th-ranked prospect in the 2023 Class out of DeSoto High School. He had 16 catches for 273 yards and two touchdowns in his time with the Longhorns over the past two seasons. Underclassmen players cannot enter the transfer portal until December 9th.
