Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing a Dallas doctor for reportedly violating the state's 2023 ban on sex-change treatments for children. The lawsuit filed in Collin County on Thursday accuses Dr. May Lau of prescribing hormones "for the purpose of transitioning the biological sex" of minors. Dr. Lau works for the U-T Southwestern Medical Center. The lawsuit is the state's first enforcement action against a physician under Senate Bill 14. The state is seeking more than a million-dollars and injunctions against the doctor's conduct.
