Low-Income Downtown Residents Want Delay On County Vote About Stadium

Residents of a low-rent downtown apartment complex want the San Antonio City Council to delay a vote on a proposed baseball stadium that would force them to relocate. The council is scheduled to vote Thursday on the plan to develop a $160 million minor league stadium on San Pedro Creek. The area around the ballpark would be redeveloped to generate new tax revenue to help pay off the stadium's construction costs. An existing apartment complex would be torn down to make room for a mixed-use, multifamily development.
