Several new laws passed during special sessions of the Texas Legislature are set to go into effect on Sunday. Among the 50-plus bills, one notable law is House Bill 18, which imposes new regulations on social media platforms. Under this law, digital service providers must verify a user's age and obtain parental consent before minors can create accounts. These changes follow last year's legislative session, where more than 700 bills became law.
