Efforts to build a new elementary school in Uvalde are getting a financial boost. The Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation announced Tuesday it has received a $10 million donation toward the construction of a new school. In addition to its own sizable donation, the Kate Marmion Charitable Foundation has announced it will match another $5 million in donations. The district now says it has over 80 percent of the funds needed to build the school which would replace Robb Elementary where 19 students and two teachers were shot and killed in 2022. Construction of the new school is expected to wrap up in the fall of next year.
