The Cowboys have trimmed their roster down to 53 players prior to the start of the regular season. Among the moves, Dallas waived defensive end Carl Lawson, running back Royce Freeman, and linebackers Darius Harris and Nick Vigil. The team also traded tight end Peyton Hendershot to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick. Offensive lineman Nathan Thomas was put on injured reserve, while cornerback DaRon Bland was place on IR with a designation to return. Star wideout CeeDee Lamb will begin the year on the commissioner's exempt list. The Cowboys visit the Cleveland Browns in their season opener on September 8th.
