Judge Blocks TEA From Releasing School District Letter Grades Statewide

A Travis County district judge is blocking the Texas Education Agency from releasing its letter grades for schools and districts statewide. Monday's temporary restraining order marks the second straight year the T-E-A has been blocked from releasing the A-to-F scores. Five school districts filed a lawsuit on Monday following up on a 2023 lawsuit from more than 100 districts, which is still being litigated. Last year's suit claimed the T-E-A had unfairly changed the scoring method in such a way as to result in lower scores. Monday's lawsuit argued that the T-E-A still hadn't corrected the problem.
