Longer Terms, Higher Pay For San Antonio Officials Placed On Ballot

San Antonio City Council is placing longer terms and higher pay for themselves before the voters. In Thursday's meeting, council members voted unanimously to order the election in November. Several council members opposed charter amendments to double their terms from two-years to four-years, and to increase the salary for council seats and the mayor's office. The salaries for council members and the mayor have been unchanged since 2015.
