Rangers Defeat Astros In Extra Innings

The Texas Rangers defeated the AL West rival Houston Astros in extra innings in Arlington. Texas beat Houston 4-3 in a 10-inning contest to start off a three-game series at Globe Life Field. Josh Smith hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th to propel Texas to its second win in the last three games. Corey Seager also homered, hitting his 23rd long ball of the year on a solo shot in the eighth. Kirby Yates notched his fourth win after striking out four and allowing one unearned run through two innings of relief. The Rangers are third in the division at 54-and-59. Alex Bregman homered for Houston in the setback. Caleb Ferguson was tagged with the loss on the mound. The Astros have lost three in-a-row to slip to 57-and-55.
