Astros Defeat Pirates To Avoid Three-Game Sweep

The Houston Astros defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 to avoid a three-game sweep at Minute Maid Park. Mauricio Dubon hit his fourth home run of the season on a two-run blast in the sixth inning. Yainer Diaz continued his hot streak at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Starting pitcher Framber Valdez earned his 10th win after striking out 10 and allowing four runs through six frames. Josh Hader recorded his 21st save to help the Astros snap a three-game losing skid. Houston remains atop the AL West at 56-and-52. The Astros remain home to host the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow night. Left-hander Yusei Kikuchi will start opposite Tampa Bay righty Shane Baz.
