The Astros dropped their series opener against the Pirates. Houston lost to Pittsburgh 5-3 at Minute Maid Park. Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez each had two hits and an RBI in the setback. Josh Hader was charged with the loss and slipped to 4-and-6 on the season after allowing three runs in the top of the ninth. The Astros have lost two in-a-row but remain atop the AL West at 55-and-51. They host the Pirates again tonight. Right-hander Hunter Brown is slated to start on the mound.
