The Rangers were swept in Toronto. Texas lost to the Blue Jays 7-3 in the finale of a three-game series at Rogers Centre. Starting pitcher Jon Gray left the game without throwing a pitch after feeling discomfort in his right groin while warming up on the mound. Jonathan Hernandez was charged with the loss after allowing five runs through two-and-a-third innings after stepping in for Gray. Josh Smith hit his 11th homer of the year on a two-run blast in the eighth inning. The Rangers have lost three straight and sit third in the AL West at 51-and-55. They travel to face the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. Right-hander Nathan Eovaldi will start opposite St. Louis righty Andre Pallante.
