Jonathan Tobin on Israel's War, Trump's Survival, and Netanyahu's Speech

In a comprehensive interview on "The Joe Pags Show," journalist Jonathan Tobin delved into the recent turmoil involving the war in Israel, the attempted assassination of former President Trump, and Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to Congress.

Tobin began by discussing the reaction in Israel to the attempted assassination of Trump, noting that it was shocking to Israelis and highlighted the frightening turmoil in the USA that has global repercussions.

Pags asked whether the war in Israel could have ended sooner with a different U.S. administration. Tobin suggested that while the Biden administration has been a hindrance in some respects, many factors are at play, including the Israeli army's preparedness for war.

The conversation then turned to the potential end of the war with Hamas, with Tobin explaining the complexities and realities that make a straightforward resolution challenging, especially given Hamas's reluctance to end the conflict.

Tobin also commented on Netanyahu's recent speech to Congress and the pro-Hamas protests in Washington, DC, noting the reluctance of politicians on the left to speak out against such demonstrations. He criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her inconsistent stance on Israel, claiming she speaks out of both sides of her mouth.

Despite these criticisms, Tobin predicted that Harris would win the majority of American Jewish votes, although he believes Trump would be better for American Jews overall. He argued that for many Jewish Americans, politics has become akin to religion, with a strong belief in the left party.

Regarding Trump's VP pick, J.D. Vance, Tobin assured that Jewish people should feel comfortable with Vance, praising his stance on foreign policy.
