The San Antonio Zoning Commission is opposed to a proposed buffer zone around the Toyota plant on the city's South Side. The proposed Industrial Compatibility Overlay District would restrict commercial and residential development around the plant. In Tuesday's meeting, the commission heard from the city and from local residents about the proposed zone, and voted against it. The final decision belongs to the City Council. It's not clear when the council will discuss the proposal.
