Rangers Shutout Padres In Series Opener

The Rangers cruised to a shutout win over the Padres. Texas defeated San Diego 7-0 in the opener of a three-game series at Globe Life Field. Nathaniel Lowe hit two home runs and finished with four RBIs to lead Texas to its second straight victory. Jonathan Ornelas, Marcus Semien and Leody Taveras also drove-in a run. Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi earned the win and moved to 5-and-3 after striking out six through seven scoreless frames. The Rangers are now 39-and-46 heading into another matchup with San Diego tonight. Right-hander Jon Gray will start opposite Padres righty Adam Mazur.
