Rangers Knock Off Mets In Series Finale

The Rangers snapped a five-game losing streak with a win over the Mets in their series finale. Texas defeated New York 5-3 in the final matchup of a three-game set at Globe Life Field. Leody Taveras hit his fifth home run of the season on a two-run shot in the seventh inning to score what turned out to be the game-winning runs. Wyatt Langford also had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jose Urena earned his third win after tossing two scoreless innings of relief, while Kirby Yates notched his 11th save. The Rangers are third in the AL West at 34-and-40. Pete Alonso belted his 16th homer of the year in the setback. Drew Smith was tagged with his first loss. The Mets had a seven-game win streak snapped to fall to 35-and-38.
