Caterpillar's development of a new industrial engine means jobs are coming to the San Antonio area. The company recently announced plans to invest $70 million in its Schertz facility to make components for the new C13D Industrial Engine. Another $20 million is to be invested in the company's Seguin facility to assemble the engines. Caterpillar has about 2,200 employees in the greater San Antonio area.
