Storms Leave Thousands Without Power In The Houston Area

Mayor John Whitmire is reporting the deaths of at least four people during Thursday night's severe weather in Houston. Whitmire stated in a news conference that two people were killed by downed trees and a third by a crane that fell over. The mayor didn't provide details about the death of the fourth person. Whitmire said nonessential workers should stay home today. CenterPoint reported nearly 800-thousand customers were without power as of 7 a.m. All Houston ISD schools are closed today and will reopen on Monday.
