Boerne High School has some new marching band equipment, courtesy of Metallica. The famous band named the school a winner in its "For Whom The Band Tolls" contest, good for $15,000 worth of equipment. Some of the new instruments replace older ones that had been in use since 2010. Boerne High School tied with a school in New York State for the best performance by a medium-sized high school. Boerne's submission was a four-minute medley of five Metallica songs.
