Feds Arrest Five Men Suspected Of Gun-Running To Drug Cartels In Mexico

Federal officials are reporting the arrests of five men accused of illegally buying guns and trafficking them to drug cartels in Mexico. The Justice Department says all five men are charged with conspiracy to straw purchase guns and smuggle them across the U.S.-Mexico border. A straw purchase refers to buying a gun for somebody who is legally prohibited from owning it. Gerardo Perez Jr. of Laredo is accused of purchasing more than 100 guns with the intent of taking them to Nuevo Laredo. Four other suspects are also in custody.
