Texas Panhandle Fire Now 87% Contained

The Smokehouse Creek Fire in the Texas Panhandle is now said to be about 87% contained. The blaze ignited on February 26th and since then spread to become the largest wildfire in Texas history.

The Texas A&M Forest Service says the fire has burned more than a million acres, spanning the size of Rhode Island. Two people were killed in the fire that also destroyed hundreds of structures and left thousands of cattle dead.
