Scores of parties are trying stop state environmental officials from permitting wastewater to be dumped into a local creek. Some residents of northwest Bexar County are concerned about a home developer’s plan to dump treated wastewater into Helotes Creek. Monday was the deadline to contest a wastewater permit request to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The San Antonio Water System, the City of San Antonio, and more than 80 other parties contested the permit, which hasn’t yet been granted.
