15 GOP Governors To Tour Texas-Mexico Border In Support Of Abbott

Gov. Greg Abbott will welcome 15 other GOP governors to the southern border on Sunday in response to President Biden's open-border policies. The governors and Texas state officials will attend a press conference at 2:30 p.m. in Shelby Park, an Eagle Pass location that the state has put off-limits to federal immigration officials. Prior to the press conference, the governors will be briefed on Operation Lone Star, Abbott's border security initiative. Last week, Abbott issued a statement on Texas' constitutional right to defend and secure its border.
