All-Texas Super Bowl?

It's the second week of January and the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans are still alive for an All-Texas Super Bowl.

It has long been a dream of mine to witness an All-Texas Super Bowl. As a kid, when Tom Landry was coaching the Cowboys and Bum Phillips was coaching the Houston Oilers, it nearly happened. But the Oilers could not get past the Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty of the Seventies in the AFC Championship Game to reach the Super Bowl and face the Cowboys.

Of course, the odds are long that these two teams will wind up in Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas on February 11th. But they survived the first step: making the playoffs. In fact, both teams won their respective divisions.

On Saturday, the Texans will host the Cleveland Browns in the wild card round of the playoffs. That is a winnable game for the Texans.

On Sunday, the Cowboys will host the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round of the playoffs. Dallas is a heavy favorite to win that game.

If both teams win this weekend, my dream of an All-Texas Super Bowl will extend for at least one more week.

And if both teams are still standing in February...
