The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is detailing its winter preparations to the state's power grid. The Texas grid operator has been conducting weatherization and inspections at its generation and transmission facilities. ERCOT has also set up an additional fuel source in case of a natural gas scarcity. In addition, the agency is obtaining the most detailed weather forecasts it can, in order to develop load forecasts calibrated for extreme cold weather. ERCOT is also improving communications with the public and with other agencies.
