The White House is slamming Governor Greg Abbott over a bill making illegal immigration a state crime. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called it an "extreme law" aimed at demonizing and dehumanizing immigrants. She said the Justice Department will soon decide whether to file a lawsuit against Texas. The law Abbott signed on Monday empowers state authorities to arrest migrants on state charges. Abbott's move is in response to a surge of illegals crossing the U.S.-Mexico border as a result of the Biden administration's border policies.
