Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing an Austin-based company for reportedly scamming thousands of veterans in Texas and beyond. Paxton's complaint, filed in district court in Bexar County, seeks damages and a permanent injunction against the VA Claims Insider. The lawsuit claims VA Claims Insider falsely promotes certain services as free before locking vets into contracts that charge huge sums, including for potentially illegal services, or for assistance it doesn't provide. The company denies everything.
