Federal appellate judges are having a look at a new Texas law aimed at making sure school library books are age-appropriate. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday focused on the law's definitions of sexual content and community standards. The law requires book vendors to rate the relevance and explicitness of sexual references in books they sell to the state's 1,200 school districts. The questions came up in a hearing for a legal challenge by booksellers who claim the law is unconstitutionally broad and vague.
