The Stars began their season with a win. Dallas took down the visiting St. Louis Blues 2-1 in a shootout at the American Airlines Center. Jason Robertson and Matt Duchene scored in the shootout to propel Dallas to the win. Jamie Benn was the lone player to light the lamp for Dallas in regulation. The Stars improved to 1-0-and-0. They will take the weekend off before traveling west to take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.
