Astros Hold Off Twins To Take Game One, Lead ALDS 1-0

The Astros have a 1-0 lead in their best of five ALDS against the Twins after earning a 6-4 victory in Game One at Minute Maid Park.

Justin Verlander was credited with the win after striking out six batters over six scoreless innings.

Ryan Pressly secured his first save of the series after striking out two over a scoreless ninth inning. Jose Altuve hit a leadoff home run and Yordan Alvarez went deep twice in the game.

Bailey Ober was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits over three innings pitched.

Jorge Polanco and Royce Lewis hit back to back homers in the top of the seventh.

Minnesota hopes to even the series at a game apiece when it faces Houston in Game Two Sunday night.
