President Biden says the U.S. "unequivocally condemns" Saturday's surprise attacks by Hamas and "stands ready" to offer whatever support Israel needs. In a White House statement, Biden said Israel has the right to "defend itself and its people." He called his administration's support for Israel's security "rock solid and unwavering." He also warned any group or country that's hostile to Israel against trying to take advantage of the situation. Biden is scheduled to speak early Saturday afternoon.
