Texas Tops Kansas 40-14

The Texas Longhorns are now 5 and 0 on the season after defeating the Kansas Jayhawks 40-14 on Saturday afternoon at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Up next, Texas will travel to Dallas to play Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry game. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. at the Cotton Bowl.

The Longhorns offense knocked out 661 yards of total offense. The Texas defense allowed just 260 total yards of offense.

Jonathan Brooks rushed for a career-high 217 yards on 20 carries and a pair of touchdowns.

  • The Longhorns jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, with an 88-yard touchdown drive. Ewers was outstanding on the drive, going 4-for-4 with 45 yards passing before finishing off the drive with a 30-yard touchdown run.
