Lions Upset Chiefs In Season Opener

The Lions spoiled the Chiefs' banner celebration at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday Night Football. Jared Goff threw for 253 yards and one touchdown as Detroit took down defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City 21-20 in the NFL season opener. Josh Reynolds caught four passes for 80 yards while David Montgomery carried the ball 21 times for 74 yards and a score.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 226 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while adding 45 yards on the ground. The star quarterback failed to connect with his receivers late in the game as the KC offense stalled out with two minutes left to play.

The Lions move to 1-and-0 on the season while the Chiefs start the year 0-and-1.
